Pediatrics at SHC
The Spine & Health Center of New Jersey is proud to offer Pediatrics.
Our pediatric physical therapists (PT’s) and Chiropractic Physicians (DC’S) treat kids under 18, from newborns to teenagers. They see children for a variety of different reasons, including bone/muscle issues, sports-related injuries, or genetic, brain, spine, or nerve disorders. They have years of training and advanced certifications in treating children. Our Pediatric providers help kids improve their range of motion, strength, flexibility, and movement patterns. The goal is to help children move their bodies how and when they want to the best of their abilities. Pediatric PTs help make everyday activities easier for kids.
Pediatric therapy helps children learn to successfully and independently perform gross motor skills and functional mobility skills. As a child begins to successfully develop these skills, it creates a greater form of independence that helps contribute to achieving a higher sense of self-esteem. Though pediatric therapy for children provides a safer form of development and strengthening, it is also capable of being an essential preventative measure.
Pediatric therapy also helps young athletes in preventing injury by addressing any muscle imbalance or weakness as well as help them to return to play after injury. A variety of treatment interventions are used including: developmental activities, therapeutic exercise, balance and coordination activities, adaptive play activities, mobility training, safety and prevention programs, and activities to promote overall wellness.
